Within the continuing education program at the Marine Sciences Centre at the University of Basra, a course on marine oil pollution and control methods was held, delivered by Researcher Mazen Abdul Hussain Badan
 It dealt with the cycle of oil pollution of the water environment (its causes, damages and methods of treatment).
 The course focused on treatment methods for this type of pollution, compared them, and identified the advantages and disadvantages of each method, which is most appropriate for the environment.
