The Marine Science Center at the University of Basra organized a training workshop entitled “Renewable Energy” attended by a number of representatives from other government departments.

The workshop, presented by lecturer Mazen Abdul Hussein Baddin, addressed renewable energy as an inexhaustible natural resource, such as the sun, wind, and water, and its importance in combating climate change by reducing harmful emissions compared to fossil fuels. It also covered its economic and environmental benefits, such as job creation and energy security, in addition to highlighting its different types, challenges, and future opportunities.
